The FSM National Oceanic Resource Management Authority (NORMA) has initiated a college internship program as an attempt to recruit highly talented FSM college students, familiarize them with ongoing issues within fisheries and open the possibilities for future job placement. The first intern(s) will be brought on board during the Summer of 2017. The internship will be for the minimum duration of one month, negotiable from the months of June to August, with a reasonable biweekly stipend provided and the possibility for return airfare for eligible applicants. Interested candidates should be in their junior or senior year of college (final year or recent graduates of the College of Micronesia are also encouraged to apply), with a major or minor in any of the following or related fields: Marine Science, Marine Biology, Oceanography, Ocean Engineering, Ecology, Fisheries Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Management, Criminal Justice, Law/Pre-law, Political Science, Economics, or Accounting.
To apply, email a letter of interest, recent transcript, letter of academic reference, one-page writing sample and resume or curriculum vitae by the deadline of June 1, 2017 to the Internship Committee at email@example.com. An indication of a possible proposed project and/or specific area of interest are encouraged as part of the application package, particularly for applicants seeking college credit. The chosen intern(s) will be notified within one week, with a proposed start date of June 12, 2017, or as negotiated with the Internship Committee.
